    Default Couple Cool Pics

I do alot of work with this DJ / Producer (Randy Boyer). These are some pics of a club show from Christmas. This was a great show (music and lasers)!!!

the response to the Laser was amazing! i gotta tell you, that first Laser shot and the crowd reaction is one of the best feelings in the world! This was a relatively smaller venie. Only about 500-600 capacity. But when I fired the lasers for the first time, WOW!! you would have thought you were in the middle of a 10,000 person stadium.

    anyway...enjoy some pics.

    Great pictures.
Anyone have some good tips on shooting these kind of pictures ?
Went on holiday last year with a group of computergeeks (it's basically a LAN party abroad, we bring our pc's , girlfriends (if any...) eat, drink, play games and have a holiday).
I brought my green 1W and did some "shows" at night by the campfire.

2 friends brought their Nikon 5D digital bla bla cams but no good usable pics came off.
Only shaking and moved pictures, or so dark one could see my face.
Frustrating as hell, so how to make such nice pics as above ?
Using a tripod ? Long shutters speed (how long) etc ?

ALOT! its a 4W/532 in there and a 1W/635. The green would actually turn off after a little while previously. I had to add in another exhaust fan. Now she's flawless. But still generates considerable heat.

these pictures were all taken by a professional photographer. So, they probably look especially good. He does some cool effects. However, i learned that taking pics of lasers obviously could be tricky. But, i get all of my best results with the flash off. youre taking picture of light. you don't need additional light.

Look HERE at my pics page. all of those pictures are just simple, point and shoot pics. no iso settings, shutter settings, exposure settings or anything. i really think the auto setting on dig. cams should work fine for you.

you might experiment with a slow shutter speed and a flash turned down a bit and set to rear curtain sync.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Marc,

Wow!! that 635 looks really strong next to 4Watts of 532. I was thinking of adding red to my 2 Watt 532 but thought I would need at least 2 Watts. Much like your show there I only use beams so I'm not going to be too anal about balance.

Did you have to use larger mirrors on your scanners? Just curious what are you using? I currently have the 6800HP's and I'm concerned the 3mm mirrors may be too small for the 635.

    Regards,
    Jim

    hey jim-

amazing and goes to show ya that "theories" on color balancing means almost zilcho in the "real world!"

4W of 532 and 1W of 635 "theoretically" should like poop on a stick. but in fact the red is blazingly bright! and mixes beautifully with the 532.

1W/635 with your 2W/532 would look great. ESCPECIALLY if its more of a beam system. ill be honest, yeah, i lose a sickening amount of the 635 on the scanners, but it still is blazingly bright. i am just using standard stock mirrors on my DT40's. (i think 3mm)

you will lose some of the 635 on your mirrors. but not enough to make it uneconomical.

let me know if you have any questions.
