Nice. Calibrated to a head you dont have!
This space for rent.
Um, I'm pretty sure that does not talk to a thermal puck. More likely a photodiode that is bolted on the end of an Ion Laser...

Looks like a box used on 171 or 165, or 20xx or 30xx readout for a light pickoff on the end of a Ion laser, the light pickoff is also used for closed loop light feedback.
+
Key here is the UV/Vis switch... That is the giveaway that it belongs to an Ion laser, along with the 2030 statement.
+
Now for the bad news, each photodiode is individually calibrated at the factory, there is no standard in Volts per Watt... As no two of them get the same attenuator stack, and are used at many possible wavelengths.
+
Yeah its for a 2030, so basically you have a meter movement in a box with a tiny circuit board and a attenuator switch.
+
Probably an XLR connector on the back..

When I still could have...
Yep, a 5-pin XLR on a captive cable. I haven't opened it to see what's inside yet.
I didn't buy it thinking I would actually be able to use it, I do have a functioning LPM. I bought it more as a conversation piece, or perhaps a joke gift for Pat whom I've gotten to know over the last couple NWLEMs. But the main reason was because the price tag said "Mad Scientist..."
That was worth the $15 to me.
I keep miss reading "watt meter" as "Walt Meader". old school laserist and US dealer for legal lightspace lasers.
The older you get... the more those letters start to get fuzzy. (And the more pairs of +1.5 readers you have laying around! Jus sayin')
PM Sent...
Yeah, I need to see about getting a selfie stick to read my phone. My arms have gotten too short.
