    Thumbs up

Thats a great little tec/driver, I like the way you can mount it on the baseplate for cooling.

Now with Marco's positive driver instead of the flexmod and you would have the perfect setup

You never stop, do you. He has the diodes isolated, changing drivers wouldn't make it any more perfect. If you are suggesting not isolating the diodes and grounding them is more perfect some how, then you have to worry about ground fault problems.

    I'm always in for perfection

I have killed several diodes because the diode casing touched the housing during maintenance. And with a positive drive you can put 2, 3, 4 collimators in one piece of metal, and isolate this with a tec.

So I just prefer positive drivers, sorry.

You might prefer positive drivers, but that was an awfully trite and advertising -sounding way and time to state it.. The man just finished his project for heavens sake.

heres my progress Just tidying up a board containing 4 high side drivers to work with the common cathode arrangement in the new mounts.

Yes an high side driver could be better to protect diodes but here I have a great intrinsic protection : the power supply to the diode's driver is just a bit higher than what the diodes needs at full power, so even when shorting the diodes cathode to ground they will not die, at least if you don't let the short circuit lasting too long, tested and approved :-)

And the flexmod is a really nice driver, I particulary like its miniature size. The only small downside is the mod input isn't a very high impedance one so if your dac can't source enough current the voltage will not reach the full 5V. You can work around it by setting the full current to diodes at 4V...

Now the part I hate with this beautiful module is that when I'll receive my freshly ordered 1.7W 640nm module, it will just be useless, and I still have to find him a really convincing use to stop myself thinking of selling it...

Dave : nice nice! I can see three quad modules, are you going to make mass production?

Dave, are your holes for the diode holders drilled at different heights to avoid the "big beam" syndrome as discussed in acheeeemmmmm.... a couple of different threads?

Yeah, indeed they are. You can see the mirror mount on the left allows the diode behind to pass over it..

If one day you think about selling those modules, PM me
