Great way to power lasers indeed, that was actually what I planned to do too until I discovered the supplier of my laser modules put some nice 5V/60A and 12V/29A supplies on the package, a chance I didn't already purchased the computer PSU at that time

By the way, did you tested and adjusted voltage of this Connexelectronics PSU prior to install it for the scanners? Mine is performing quite well, did a few gig with it already.

Added a couple revisions to the build so it’s taking a little longer to get up and running. I had to take everything apart again and do some more milling. I mainly added active TEC cooling to the scanner block, want to keep everything comfortable there now. Just need to add the TEC Driver this weekend and well be ready to go.

Very clean build. Would it not be better to flip the fan around and take the warm air from the TEC out rather than blowing circulating it into the build?

It sounds paradox, but most (>95%), if not all CPU coolers, are of the forced air type, thus forcing fresh air into the heat sink. This is apparently the more efficient method of heat dissipation; also the design of the fan determines operation within the system (fan/heat sink combination). Just Google CPU coolers and you will find this constellation.

I hear you. I asked this question MOST RECENTLY about one month ago and I am still waiting. The results could be exciting. Hope we see something soon.
