I have been meaning to pipe in here for a couple of days; home has been complicated since I got back.

A BIG thank you to everyone who attended; especially to Adam for orginizing "everything" and to Mr. Whitcher for helping to keep my head straight.

I must say the auditorium looked exactly how I have been imagining it for the past 3 or 4 years and Club SELEM looked like the Clusterfuck Spec always wanted. I hope we can get him out to the event next year so he can enjoy it. Those of you who could not attend this year were definatly missed. With the lack of people the two "venues" looked a bit empty; almost like the first year or two.

I am not sure we can improve things much for next year except to try and keep on track with the schedule. I have no complaints or regrets; areas were set up, laser shows were watched most of the time, and no one "lacked" for anything that I noticed. I was a bit disappointed I couldn't get more people to drink Absinthe with me... (Thanks DAN!!!)

    Looking forward to SELEM 2013!!!

I would have partaken in the Absinthe if invited.

As far as SELEM goes, I wish there would be less emphasis on trying to set up everything that can be set up and just setting up enough to have a good time and then having a good time. Half the time SELEM is a ghost town. I don't know where everyone goes but they aren't at SELEM. Not sure how to fix that.

So... is the expectation that the dates for next year will be August 15-18? In my business, I really need to get it on the calendar ASAP!

    Gary,

Join us at the Holiday Inn next year. As I recall it was available for the "after-hours" discussions...

Lots of folks were at Club SELEM this year - I had to remind myself to walk around both areas if you were looking for someone.

I am kind of inclined to agree, I enjoy talking to people more than the lasers at this point lol

although seeing DZ's projector has inspired me to make a bad-ass graphics projector again

but ya definately the after hours at the HI Express are the highlight of SELEM... between plenty of alcohol and Adam's stories, awesome

It was a very nice LEM- thanks to buffo and all others as well--

More people would have made it perfect- not only additional $$ but more peeps to enjoy the shows-
Until next year I suggest we all try to convince another member to make SELEM VII thier first and if we all can try to bring at least one guest with, then we will have the size of crowd something this spectacular deserves.

the donated doorprizes were very generous- thanks Mike Dunn, CT, X Laser and AixiZ especially for giving me the QS and green labbies to bring. .thanks Aaron for all the help with my Beyond. Thanks Bill for the great presentation and very nice shirts. Gregs Lumia how-to was also very helpful.. I was glad to see so many friends again and love the 4 color portable Lumia box build supurbly by James( Dr Evil)- CLUB SELEM gave me several eyegasms and a few eargasms too. thanks Brad for the meatball subs..they were quite tasty.

    Len

The free open bar was a real treat- no one needed to drive off venue- we had a full bar thanks to Dan.

I liked the first year I went where everyone had their stuff crammed onto the stage. It sucked as far as putting on shows but it was awesome to have everyone together like that. I'm not suggesting we to back to that format but it did seem more fun, at least to me. Maybe spreading everything out so thin isn't a good idea. Maybe instead of having both Club SELEM and the auditorium going it could be alternated each year. Everyone seems to have their own idea of what SELEM should be. Some of those guys never come out of the dressing rooms. LOL. Anyway, just saying that bigger isn't always better. Feel free to disagree because I am very interested in hearing other people's point of view.
