Wow! Long time no see, Doc! Really glad to have you back. SELEM has changed a lot since you last attended. It's one hell of a ride now! Sure hope you can make it this year...

A month from right now, I'll be leaving the HIE and starting the journey home and not believing SELEM is already over.

I know, right? It never lasts long enough. But it's going to be one hell of a good time while it does last, right?

I wonder what new crap I'll own.

No telling.... Hell, you might own more stuff before you even leave the house, let alone the stuff you might purchase while you are there!

Where I will have lost a quadcopter.

I've been amazingly lucky in that regard. Despite some horrific crashes into trees, back yards, and roofs, I've always been able to recover my birds. With the tenacity of the folks at SELEM, I feel confident that we can retrieve a bird from just about anywhere.

If we will have needed to bail anyone out.

Let's hope not! (This might be a good time to remind everyone of the weapon's ban at SELEM. I'm not against guns or knives at all, but they have no place at the venue.)

If buffo will still be intact with no additional bruising or electrical damage.

So long as I remember which switch is the throttle hold and which one is idle-up, I should be fine. And I haven't worn the glow-wire shirt in ages, so I should be OK there. (Though I still could get bit by 3 phase in the ion work room if I'm not careful...)

If the town of Newton show will have been a triumph.

This, I think, is a given! It will *ROCK*.

How many HIE cinnamon buns I will have consumed in 5 days. Etc.....

I didn't know they had cinnamon buns! Damn - maybe I should pop over there for breakfast one day. (Then again, Ann Steadman at the Trotthouse cooks one hell of a breakfast too.)

Man, this thing is 3 weeks and 2 days away! Amazing! Where did the time go?

oddly enough, i had a dream about visiting SELEM this night and the dream was an excerpt from LSX presentation by dkumpula, note that this is a dream so features mentioned here are a fiction
he was demonstrating a way of applied physics equations in LSX to create a lava lamp effect to laser graphics, you know - balls of slime ascending in the middle where the lamp spot is heating the fluid and descending on sides of the lamp where the fluid is cooler
then there were similar slime effects with bubbles that pop and leave a mess of oily stains (you must imagine all this in laser graphics, in the dream i WAS taking screenshots to my imaginary laptop and making notes in Word but it was all only imaginary, oh well...)
after that he demonstrated a voice controlled addon to TouchOSC android program, where he could control lasers similar as you have with google on android devices, and even creation of simple graphics and that all while swami in the auditorium was giving him a call from his cellphone

- hello swami, i will now demonstrate a simple shape creation in LSX via voice control... ok LSX, shape square, x equals 0.5, center horizontally, center vertically, color green... etc.

i know you guys probably don't use android phones anyway but it was just a dream and i felt like in a david copperfield show full of laser magic i wish i could visit someday...

I'm not sure what to say about this post, Dzodzo! I guess I'd first ask if LSD use is on the rise in Central Europe. Next I think that such a presentation would be more likely to be a tutorial from CMB with artistic direction provided by Swami - all enabled by the efforts of the elusive DrLava, of course!

That said, I did dream about SELEM during the three hours of sleep I got last night. Unfortunately, my dreams were about underpowered beam projectors in the auditorium. (I'll take your dream instead!)

Hope to see you at SELEM some day along with many more of the great lasering folks we have distributed around the world!
