Hey folks...

Sorry I've been away from the forums lately. I have really had my hands full, both with work and with helping a few fellow laserists get ready for the 4th of July. But the event that has consumed most of my time over the past week is the arrival of my second grandchild!

I present: Adalyn Marie Burns! (With her Grandfather)



This is the first child for my younger son, Mike. Those of you who were at SELEM last year remember that my older son Daniel and his wife had their first child in the middle of SELEM. That was granddaughter #1. This is granddaughter #2! (And I gotta tell you - all this "grand" talk is making me feel really old!)

Adalyn was born on June 21st. She's very healthy. 6 lbs, 11oz, and 19 inches. Mom is doing fine as well. We spent a lot of time with mom and baby those first two days, and my wife has been over there pretty much every day since the birth.

So now you know what's been keeping me busy! But things should settle down to something resembling a normal life for me soon.

First order of business is to update the SELEM thread with all the new people who have signed up! Then I'll start working on backlogged messages.

Thanks for all the kind words, people! I'm still figuring out this whole "grandparent" thing. I feel like I need to go buy myself a cane or something! (For sure there are parts of me that feel old enough...)

She is very adorable. But then again, there's a whole lot more of Marie (my wife) and Lauren (Mike's wife) in that mix, so I think they are the reason Adalyn is so cute! I probably don't have anything to do with it. (Good thing, right?)

Think about all the good parts about being a Grandpa. When the diaper is shitty you hand them over to mother and father. You can give them candy and soda behind the parents back. You can spoil them rotten. Sure getting old sucks but now you basically have all the fun parts of kids without any of the responsibility. LOL

Beautiful little girl though guess she is getting most of the genes from mothers side. LOL I kid.
