Since you didn't say cheap scanner set, I'd recommend Cambridge Technology. They are pretty much the best scanners out there.

Otherwise, I hear good things about the aforementioned SCANPRO 50s.

DT40s can also do 50k at 6 degrees if tuned properly. I have a set myself and they do great at 30k (which is what most content is designed to run at.)
Talk to DZ here on PL about those.

Definitely in a different ballpark than ScanPros.

I'm laying groundwork for my next projector, and I want the fastest galvos to be had in it...

    ^^

    have a look at onestoplasershop...

Bear in mind, you wont be able to use any thing with a beam bigger than 3mm if you want 60k scanning, so that pretty much rules out any 635nm laser...

And yeah, as Platinum said, CT's are a different ball park, price wise to the stuff we sell like our 50k's..

...What Dave said AND if ya wanna do great BIG stuff or stuff with lots of detail (like logos, etc) forget the CTs as well.

We have been using the Eye Magic 4000s http://www.eyemagic.gr/laser-scanners.html for several years now, and we swear by them.

Yes they did have some magnet issues in like '04-05', but those have been permanently resolved with a new magnet material that is virtually indestructable - we consistently see these things kick the snot out of even 6215s, and are WAY tougher, will NOT blow or flip-out on you / go limp during a show...we stake LOTS of pretty-high-dollar shows on them, and they never let us down... we use CTs strictly for raves / dance parties / 'lower-risk' shows only...when we need detail / a BIG field, or just plain no-worries, EMS 4Ks are the bomb... they even do much-higher speed for the BIG mirror stuff (ie: 7-8mm mirs for KTP systems) than do the big CTs...

EyeMagic also makes some pretty interesting side-products, the Iris Color/Safe and the MagicBox - pretty cool card! When we get some bux to spend for stuff over-and-above the necessary 'cheerios & milk' we will be checking these both out and will certainly post reviews for ya'll!

Talk to Fred at onestop - he will tell you the pros / cons (ie: they are bigger than CTs - won't have such a tiny footprint as a 6215 block; they are also pricey-er than ScanPros, but not quite as bad as CTs...) and this way you can make the best call based on your needs / goals - Scanpros might be just fine for ya!

    Anyhoo, solo mis dos centavos..
