    Default My homebuilt outdoor enclosures

So... I built some insulated cases for my projectors to use them in my Christmas display. The larger one is my 1.5W RGB laser and the two smaller ones are the 300mw greenies. I just ran the bolts for the o-clamps up through the tops of the boxes.

The boxes are not the prettiest thing, but in 17 degree temperature last night, they stayed a toasty 60 degrees inside with no condensation. They are made from 1x3 stock and luan, with foam insulation. The window is Edmund Optics anti-reflective glass.

Inside are small enclosure heaters I picked up on eBay.. they have a built in thermistor and will not exceed 65 degrees.

I would have thought looking as HOW WELL you had insulated them "OVERHEATING " would have been a bigger issue ?

The greenies were just fine, the rgb didn't stay warm enough and the blue was barely visible.... I am going to rebuild the case for it, or just move them inside the house for this year's show and make some windows using the Edmunds glass..
