    Default Underground Meeting EU/FR ?

/team/laser from parisian hackerspace /tmp/lab want to discuss a non formal meeting for European/French laser **underground** community.

    Wether you're into :

    - building your own laser.
    - building your own controller (any style : Arduilol, super advance FPGA,...).
    - program opensourcish, anything laser planetarium, games,...
    - propose a workshop
    - like mixing laser and other art forms
    - ...

Some events may happen like laser shaders showdown, workshops, discussion, Laser performance, it's widely open.

If we get enough interested people here it could happen during THSF (France, Toulouse) May 30 till June 2nd 2019

    Warning :
Please leave me a message if you want to bring some working hardware to show off. **It is not a no safety zone**. If you have high end laser(s) you may let us use, you're very welcome but remember this is not a demonstration area or a selling opportunity moment for anything commercial or creation made by high end commercial software (Pangolin,...).

    Interested ?

what is the background of the host? You see you are asking people to bring expensive gear in without having posted a single thing before.. so nobody really knows who is responsible for all of it to put their gear at risk... are there fees? Who is financing this? Many questions pop up.

Mostly laser meetings are hosted by known people in the community as you know this gear is NOT cheap..
There aren't that many coders in the laser industry let alone established artists so you are already cathering to what is a niche here in a specific area.. so pulling in people without any sort of background check will prove to be difficult.

You can delete "building your own laser". No body builds anything these days anymore.... The last Dutchlem only 2 or 3 people from the 30+ people had something that was build by themselves, the rest was china boxes and a few kvant,s.

... I do -- but more for "material processing" than laser-shows

Too far away for me, though

    Let's answer your questions :

/team/laser has 4 ILDA commercial color lasers with etherdreams controlliers and we use our non perfect opensource software to drive them. These 4 lasers are obviously entry level 25 kpps+, we are a non profit organisation. 4 is probably enough for what we want to do, but from previous experience in laser game jam we hosted, a local optical engineer student club brought their own laser/controller. So it's just a matter of welcoming other hardware to have other possibilities.

It clearly says underground, we are hackers like in MIT's Tech Model Railroad Club and competing with anyone or anything : "look ma it's bigger than our neighnoor's" or for any other reason like money is an absolute non sense.

Undergound means there is no entrance fee or anything.

Our website will be back online soon, but teamlaser is 4+ years old and already had quite successfull events from interactive games on an old french major city hall building, another one on a Paris area castle, laser game jam, laser competition in demo parties, performances mixing with other live arts like music, dance or neuroscience experiments, and so on.

Even if we are non profit, we are apparently trusted by safety authorities to do public events, so I guess we may be legits to welcome others.

    Kind regards
