    Default Brilliant grating effect

It certainly looks like a grating effect anyway, but I can't figure out how exactly it's done. I would bloody well like to know though!

Have a look at this (and the video response):

    It's apparently this baby:

I would love to know what gratings in what configuration you would have to use to get that effect though.

    Hi Tocket
It will be 2 pass thru gratings. One is fixed and one is rotating - I suspect they will be close - practically touching. You would get even better FX if you could rotate both and control thier speeds and directions.

one of my suppliers has started importing these. I`ll try and remember which one. From memory the units are reasonably cheap (low powered diodes)

That makes perfect sense now. Two line gratings make a matrix, a line grating and a burst grating makes a line of matrices and two burst gratings make a matrix of matrices. Only took about 2 years to get an answer to that question.

Now to figure out the groove density...

Hey! Just this Wednesday I was at spencer's (a gift store) and they have an identical effect. The one on display had a constant speed though and it was with a 5mW green (or red) laser. Here's one
