    Question What kind of laser is this??

    Hi I saw one of these laser machines at an event they were using it in a laser show I had to go though never saw the show this is the laser anyone know about this

    its a laserscope.

    they are very sort after and produce 40watts of green

    its used for medical purposes but can be converted to do laser shows

    Is it the same system that blinded those people its huge
    and if its used for surgery how much more danger is it than todays lasers

    #1, don't think so, IMO - analyzing the online video of that russian gig looks to me more like a Copper Vapor was used- logical-conclusion, also, cause if the 'sticker' said '5W', some ignorant-n00b on that gig could have easily thought '...5W, dat'z ok for skan krowd'...not realizing that hundreds of times per-second (30ns pulses at 20kHz), pulses from that laser are like, 8,800 Watts!!!

    #2, yeah, KTP's are dangerous, to be sure - but so are all lasers (ok, well many..) - and so are hair dryers in a bathroom, and cars on the road, etc ,etc - it's all in how you handle it...
