    Default ADAT size control

Is there a simple pot mod that can be done to the X/Y to control picture size from a ADAT player going to the projector. The test pattern doesn't look the greatest and during heavy abstracts I can hear the galvos working. The ADAT's direct picture size is about equal to my pangolin card at 100% however I usually run the picture size at 38 on pango to keep the 30K test pattern in spec. So i'd like to find an easy way to reduce picture size from an ADAT to projector.

    thanks

Not to the adat itself, but add one of these to your adat cabling if your running single ended, and two if your using the differential connector on the back of the adat.

100K dual potentiometer, in single ended, one side for x and one side for y.

for differential you need one per axis.

You assume a rather high inputimpedance of the scanamps.

I'm not familiar with the output impedance of a modded adat nor the input impedance of your scanamps.

I would choose a value that's some where between 10 times the outputimpedance of the adat and 0.2 times the input impedance of the amps.

    In my defense,
Its what I have used with my adats in the past, and both eye magic and some chinese scan amps. Its also available in his home town for 3$ on a saturday. Worth a try.

If not we can always show him how to make a buffer.

Standard procedure was to use a ugc ( universal geometric corrector ) post adat. If you are just doing stuff at home a pot would be just fine, but if you are doing shows out and about a ugh is worth tracking down.

I'll most likely just use some pots quick n dirty, but an curious do schematics exist for a UGC? I assume it would also allow keystone adjustments etc which could help with the fact that i'd like to ceiling mount the projector that now causes a screen distortion because of the angle. EDIT: after some quick searching it appears that most of these devices are patented, if there is a PD version please let me know. Also is this board still available in production anywhere? it seemed searches turned up everyone wanting one, but none available?!?

    Thanks

If Jon was looking for one it might be the best route to go, but he seems to have a bigger budget than most of the rest of us...

Yes. Pincussion, bow, rotation, linearity, size.
As far as I know there are no open schematics floating about.

I have schematics, but you'd have to sign a NCA (non compete) because when you look at the data sheet for the one chip, it gives away a fragment of a schematic that is very dear to my heart, and my wallet.

What don't you have if we end up meeting up perhaps we can talk about this as well. Gonna test out the pots in a few minutes. Thanks again.
