Default Anyone Every buy those "laser info" Cd's on ebay?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/LASER-TECHNOLOGY...QQcmdZViewItem

    Anybody got these? Any good?

Seems like theres a lot of stuff in there that would take forever to compile by hand.

Anyone got a copy they are willing to loan me so I can upload it all to PL?

    As stated by the seller:

The contents of these works are in the public domain. However, parts of this published CD ROM file are not in the Public Domain. It has a digital signature and is on deposit in the Library of Congress, USA. Anyone may freely distribute or reprint the contents of this work for non-profit or personal use. No commercial reproduction of this CD ROM is allowed. All rights are reserved.

Makes me wonder if he's held accountable to the same rules... Seems silly that he's selling them given the no commercial reproduction clause.

I think he's trying to protect his publication format. He says elsewhere that the content is all public domain. I think he's trying to limit copying in direct form.

Similar to the Arctos patent, which can't patent the use of mirrors to deflect laser light, or the use of a beam splitter to recombine polarised beams, any more than someone could patent the use of water for washing. It's just trying to protect a specific layout, the way the public domain parts and methods are brought together in a specific instance.
