I'm participating in a long thread on another media and they have answered extremely technical questions on that forum.. Right now they are doing proof of concept, but there is a strong chance it will work just fine.. Initial video and second video results are not good, but they have explained the issue and are working on it.

This uses the contact of the hair to couple light out of the side of a very critically sized fiber optic. It needs a very specific IR wavelength to work.

If the fiber diameter is out of a very specific range, the process does not work well.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I would not bet on it totally failing. Guy heading it is a leading light in IPL skin care. He can get the process working if he has enough funding.

You know, I saw this on Facebook and thought it was a joke so I never bothered to watch the video. I never even considered the possibility that they were serious!

That being said, if it works, they could really make some serious coin. But as Karl mentioned, the fact that they are crowd-sourcing this rather than using traditional venture capital is not a good sign.

My biggest question on this device is the problems with cooling and what powers it? I dont know of any battery of a form factor that can fit inside that and run more then a few seconds, and what happens when it gets oil and other dirt from a humans face? I know for my self i need to clean my face a lot of that feeling of the oil drives me nuts
