few years ago Great Value but not now.

PS... just noticed that web page was last updated in 2004 so i even wonder if they are still available ?

Mmm--then the DT40s are still the better deal? (except for the recent mirror problem..)

    Hahaha,

    The old laserworks scanners.

We started out with a couple of sets of these- as Banthai said, great value at the time, but now the Chinese scanners poop over them..

depends on what you want to do with them ..... if you want to do grafix then i say they are your best bet , the closest thing to the CT6800s that you get for so little money,

Im personaly running widemoves, they will happily run 24k grafix but
they come into themselves for beamshows .... especialy in a venue that is wider than it is longer ..... you can physicaly abuse them, overdrive them beyond 30k, chuck the beams around at unbelievably 90 deg wide angles, and they still come back for more .... and after 4 hours of "perverted" abuse they are still cool to touch, that means reliabilty... most scanner pairs fail due to overheating ... destroying the magnetic field ...

when i spoke to Joachim Müller who makes the widemoves or the M9024s ( as he preferes to call them ) ...he said " i call these "fit and forget scanners" which is so true .....

thats why i personaly would not change at the moment .... i have kicked the shit out of them for over 2 years .... and still they perform like new

OK they cost alittle bit more than jians DT40s but are still in the budget end of the market,

on the other hand .... if you are going to carefully design all your shows
around your scanners making sure your kind to them .. unlike me
I would recomend the DT40s, all the reports here are positive

good luck in your scanner quest ..... KARL

A company local to me has the laserworks scanners still listed on their website and states that they use them in one of thier projectors. Dunno if this is still true as their site also has not been updated for a while....

as dave says ..... but looking at the site it does not show too well

if you go to SERVICE page and look up 9024DC it shows the PDF

the Driver is very similar to the raytrack driver with the scan fail

The driver boards are designed by Joachim, so you know they will be
    very efficient and fast.

Also the guy gives great customer support.

    all the best ... KARL
