    Default OK its time for another stevo's outburst...

    <EDIT>
    OK- I'm going to re-phrase. (my post from last night was unclear)
    I think that a 5 - 8 mm 635-636 beam is ok (you can see it better for high ariel beam-shows, for one thing) and big scanner mirrors are ok, 50kps is not needed, and everybody is too caught up in the teeny-weeny mirrors that have to have tiny little laser beams to fit them to get these high speeds. The only point that I can see for all of this is to draw cartoons on the wall which you could easily do with a 72" plasma TV or movie projector. I believe that you can have nice beams and effects at 5k. This is just my opinion fwiw. <end rant>

    Umm what? Sorry, I think I missed something there? Are you saying you have a 636nm laser with a big beam that looks good?

    Things-Sorry I had to edit my post from last nite, but yes I think the 636 diodes and those melles modules from Laser Ben work very well together, and produce a very good (although fat) well collimated beam. I'm happy with 'em. I'll just keep using my big fat slow mirrors on my home-made galvos .

    This Rocks!!
    95% of all my shows are beam effects!!
    and you are right we don't need anything above 20k for effects and the fatter the beam the better,
    I myself leave all the animation video to the VJ's
    To me lasers can be an art of light

    I do agree.

    I Love phat beams. The fatter the better and they are also considered safer are they not?

    I wish we could get Green and blue in fat variations too. Then I would give two fingers to graphics and beam my self to heaven.

    I do however want faster scanners than my 20k's because I like to get complicated and my scanners cant handle it.
