Laser screen media

Hi,

I need to project an animation display on a screen whereby I need the screen to be able to withstand some heat generated from sparks that might fall from a nearby fireworks display.

My concern is if the laser animation will be visible if the media used to project on is a transparent grinding curtain. The screen used will be approximately 5m x 5m and details re the curtain i've identified can be found at: http://www.directindustry.com/prod/c...02-466494.html

If this isn't the right solution, any ideas/suggestions plse?

Check out inflatable outdoor screens, I am pretty sure they are tough as. You can hire them here, setup inc. hold downs etc.

Thks for ur recommendation. Unfortunately inflatable screen is not an option since i require some sort of curtain that can be easily rolled. Thks anyway

One technique that works very well, is to get a 'boat-sail-maker' or theatrical-co, to sew you a 'scrim', like this:

...but you probably shouldn't use that 'Skeeta' material, in this case - sparks, if they hit it just right, would likely melt a hole / do some damage to the skeeta-material,
so you need to use the 'heavier' fiberglass-based 'Textilene' (...what we used to use, before we found the 'skeeta-stuff', and designed-up a scrim with it...)

The 'advantage' of the Textiline is that it is very-strong / tough, yet will still allow the wind to 'pass thru it', so it is not such a 'sail' and hard to control (though you *do*
still need very-heavy-duty and properly-set-up rigging by a professional rigger...) - also, unlike the 'skeeta', (which you can only use 'pockets' with... grommets 'tear'...) you can use 'grommets' in the Textiline, to make rigging a little easier...

Here's a pic of our 'old' scrim using it - still good for either front or rear-projection lasers, and yet will most-definitely 'resist' any falling-embers from fwx...

Umm, well, if you're (again) asking about your 'fireworx-fallout-risky' area, I'd suggest you might re-read my post #4, there, again.... but just to be 'nice'... re-post:

You didn't mention your budget...

If you're worried about sparks causing a fire, what about a water screen? True, they're pricey, but they won't burn...
