    Default LaserMan532 / microlaserlabs.com Dual Knife Edge 445nm Build!!!

Here is another review/build of one of Pat's laser combiner kits. This one is a dual that combines using the knife-edge technique. Using knife edging works great with the 445nm diodes due to the rectangular multi-mode output.

Here is a picture of the kit as it comes...

    Here are the assembled pics...

    1.7 Watts!!!

    After it starts warming up....

This kit with 445nm diodes definitely needs some heavy cooling.... It will probobly work okay passively with a big heatsink, fan and some thermal compound. Active cooling with a 40mm TEC would probobly be best.

    Here are some beam pics!!!
    (NO SMOKE)

    From 25 feet...

The camera throws in artifacts that really aren't there. Just look at the really bright part in the center.... That's the true output.

    Enjoy!

    Adam-

looks great man. which barrels are you using? what about optics? or are they part of the barrels?

    Hey Marc!
Thanks for the FAST shipping on the cubes man.

They are just aixiz modules without the ass end and 405 coated 3-lens glass collimators.
Not too shabby for the cheap parts and multi-mode diodes.

How much do you think a 10 watt setup would cost ??

nice adam, looks like I need to come out with a line of finned heatsinks

That is a nice beam without all that collimation optics and all that jiz.

A LOT! I think I could work out something for you using 2 quad knife edge combiners and a PBS. I'll PM ya with a price.

    Thanks Pat,
I think the best route would be to come up with a TEC cooling assembly to go with your kits. I have some ideas in this area, We'll keep in touch.
