Small 532nm DPSS Needed

Friends,

I am interested in a small 50mW or 100mW green for the purpose of a lower power, small studio projector. Smallest form-factor desired, must support decent analog modulation. Anyone have any suggestions?

Lasever has been mentioned, iirc they had some of the smaller laser heads/power supplies.

Any feedback is appreciated!

I chose a 100mW Lasever OEM module

I built my design around a 100mW CNI pointer core to start with but it turned out not to be suitable as it has no TEC and mode hops. I'd put a lot of work into my projector design and didn't want to completly re-design it to accomodate a much larger TECed module.

The volume of the Laserwave and the Lasever OEM units at this power range is almost identical but the are configured a little diffently.

My first choice would have been the Laserwave but I just couldn't mount it properly with the space I'd left myself.

The Laserwave is considerably more expensive than the Lasever but you won't have to buy a $100 m18x0.5mm tap to machine a mount to locate the collimating lense. I'd say it probably will modulate the best out of the small greens too. I'm no authority on judging modulation quality so I'm just speculating though.

Have a chat to Bridge. He will most likely suggest you buy a 300mW unit as they are the same size and the 100mW isnt any cheaper.

Here is a pic of my projector with the Laserver unit. The Laserwave is the same size but will mount from bottom instead of the rear.

If you are after something that you are going to muck around with, believe it or not, I have had decent performance out of one of these little no name lasers. Very tight divergence. Just ditch the TTL PSU that it comes with and use a Flexmod. I don't run mine that hard and it is just for testing purposes, so I couldn't say anything about the lifespan. They are cheap enough though.

I bought one a year back and it still rocks. I just bought 2 more for my satellites, $140 shipped, both measure spot on 300mW without filters, beam profile is very tight as is stability. TTL modulation, but you can drive them with other drivers, just keep the PSU for the TEC.

No, machining this in plastic would probably be more difficult than Ali. The CAM software should pick up unviable geometry and if there any design oversights I'll just have to kick my own ass.
It's a one shot one kill kind of deal.

Ok, so we will all hold our breathes. That's an expensive slab of billet mate, you wanna be pretty sure you got it all correct!!! How about a sintered 3D model first?
