Funny how several of us have "critter issues" when trying to travel!

In our case, the 2 indoor cats are generally low-maintenance, but the spoiled-rotten overgrown hyperactive labrador retriever is quite a different story!

Luckily, we have our critters' "grand humans" just a short drive away that will come over to hang out for a day or two while we're gone...

Luckily, my parents love my dog Grizzly (I kid you not, you do too; you just don't know it yet!), so he can hang over at their house while I'm jetting around the country to geek out on lasers.

    Doug:

Haha! I hear you on the critter issues... We've got 2 cats, and even with an automatic feeder, automatic litter box, and a powered water fountain we *STILL* need to have someone come over once every day or two while we're gone. I'd hate to thing what it would be like if we had a dog. Kennels are expensive, but they're also hard on the animal. Best bet is a family member or neighbor, but that's not always an option...

As for the number of guests, right now I'm expecting around 25 to 30. Also, don't forget that Bill and Chris will be bringing down Lasagna and Garlic Bread (mmmmm!), so don't feel like you have to feed everyone for 2 days. (Though I'm not going to complain if all I eat for 2 days is lasagna and BBQ... )

I bottled up my latest batch of home brew the other day, and it turned out pretty good. Should go well with both lasagna and BBQ.

    Hey LazerJock:

You planning on bringing some more of your home-made spiced rum? (Please say yes...)

And what about Doc-John and his super-hot peppers that he grows? How about it John.... Still planning to bring a couple?

Sounds like a convenient excuse to avoid gettin' that ass beat in a cook-off.
Na,,, I just plant the seed and let others do all the work.

Maybe I can cook also if I get a styrofoam cooler and some dry ice so I can ship it.

Speaking of edibles, Or shall I say inedibles.... Look What I got growing.

Well, we'll have more time for geeking out if we don't have to go for food.

I'll start a SELEM Food thread and link this.

That's why you order out for pizza delivery, then charge the pizza guy an entrance fee to see some shows.

Brilliant! That's a good point. I don't really feel like going back to that particular Pizza Hut close to SELEM.

    Exclamation

Well, if you're going to order pizza in Newton, NC, make damn sure you don't order from Domino's...

For those of you that missed the Internet uproar: LINK (Sorry about the lousy video quality, but at least you get the newscaster voice-over.)

Here's a shorter clip with more info.

Anyway, Pizza Hut is starting to sound pretty good. (Actually, KFC is starting to sound pretty good....)

I plan to bring 2 handles of (my) RUM. That is 2-1.75 Liter bottles for those of you who don't own the "Big Book of Alchaholic terms". I posted more details on the other food thread.
