Pretty much, although I'm still fine-tuning the galvo amps, which I suspect is likely to be an ongoing process - anyhow, it's going to Wales with me!is that RGB finished yet??![]()

TBH when so many of you felt that way I'm surprised you're going back.
No offence meant when I say this, as you probably know by now I'm relatively straight talking, and I know the location is tradition because that's where the meets have always been held but to be honest (as a relative outsider to all of this), the club's falling apart and the area its in is a sh*t tip.
I'm a little surprised you haven't moved it to one of Jems village locations. The only thing that surprises me more is that no-one's had their car broken into given the type of area outside and the high value items everyone is seen carrying into the venue.
I think this will only be our third visit to this venue. Although it's not pretty, most nightclubs I have worked in aren't. They look great in the dark, as they should, but in daylight they generally do look run down and filthy.
I think 5 or 6 cars were ticketed, which out of 30 people isn't a huge percentage. Ok, it's annoying, but nobody paid up and nobody was prosecuted.
You also need to consider the level of policing, there is a far greater police presence and probably security cameras in an inner city area compared to a village. I am pretty sure there is a camera right outside that club. Much easier to target a car in a remote unpopulated location than in a city centre.
But more importantly, we have to consider the fact that we come from all over the country, while further north would be ideal for some, London or somewhere further south would be great for others. So a location in the midlands is fair for all of us, we each travel a similar distance. To get to a location up north, myself, Simon and Andy (to name but a few) would have to be up in the small hours, use a huge amount of fuel and not get home until the small hours, if we want to make a day of it. This would be much the same for the likes of Rob, Jem etc if we held the event in London. So I think this location is fair on all of us. Added to which, it IS a nightclub and as such, it has a fog machine, all the required power, high ceilings and everything we need. It also has somebody there to keep an eye on the kit while we are out.
No disrespect to anyone, but I think this venue is well suited and fair to all of us location wise. If you want your car parked in a secure place, then you have to pay and use the NCP. Load in outside the club and then move the car. Having said that, the parking fees are just a private company trying to make money out of scaring people. This kind of thing is all over the news now and not restricted just to Leicester.
Most importantly, I love the burgers in Mark's pub and look forward to eating one each year.
Just my 2p's worth

Just a tip, though you may have already worked it out. Leave the ILdA 30k scanning for a good half hour before you start tuning. I tuned a set of Laserworlds to 30k near perfect from cold. After a while they were miles out. Letting them warm up first made all the difference and now they stay pretty much spot on.
I also found that the bottom of the four lines below the square has a ripple that you can't get rid of. I think it is down to vibration in the mirrors.

UKLEM is coming soon. August 30, wish all of you have a most pleasure weekend.
My Best regards to all of you from faraway Beijing, China.

Hey Bridge
You are more than welcome to come and visit us
Al the venue isnt ideal but its adequate, I have no problems with BK, he lets us use his venue for next to nothing, he lets us run the fog as we want, we have no restrictions on the use of the building save for us trashing it - which isnt going to happen - and he has not once questioned us for rewiring his 3-ph dist board and replumbing his toilets to make my laser work. I doubt there would be many venues that would let us do these things unrestricted. We could get a great room with all the space we wanted, excellent facilities, motorway, rail and air links but I think the Birmingham NECs fees would be beyond our little band of lasernuts. While we are at the other end of the spectrum I think we should be thankful that we have a venue that is easy to get to, flexible, available when w eneed it and is so cheap.
As for the parking - ok he may not have been pro-active with this company but he did say to me 'you will get some letters - ignore them' - which I did and there was no action. There is little point in him persuing something that he knows will go away anyway. Plus I guess, despite them working for him, he will be aware of how difficult these cnuts are to deal with - the only communications you can make with them from the latter are for paying them - so maybe its a soft option but no one had to pay a penny. I would have a very different view if what he said would happen hadn't happened. I would park there again but doubt I will this time as I will not be in my own car and don't want someone else recieving the nasty letters.
I personally am happy to go back to Starlite (warts n all) for as long as BK will have us.
Rob
If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

I know y'all have a lot of landscape in that massive island nation... but what about a small 1 megabit internet connection for a bit of live video streaming action? You can turn it off when Karl gets the pole dancers going.
I guess I understand if all the cable companies are too busy wiring other parts of your vast continent...![]()
If anybody wants a Live Pro training DVD, I will bring some along to UKLEM, as well as the one copy for the door prize.
That will be the last day of the reduced price of £60, after then, they will go for £75... So if you want to save a bit on postage, UKLEM's your chance...
Cheers
Mark
