Thumbs up EvilAdam knocks one out of the park!

I got mine on Friday, and promptly dropped it in the DVD player upstairs. AWESOME!

EvilAdam is right - you really need to watch this one on a big screen to appreciate the shows. Even a 21 inch CRT isn't enough. Play it on the biggest TV in the house, folks. You won't be disappointed. (Oh, and crank the music!)

After we watched the "shows" disc, my wife said "I need to take this into work and show it to the IT guys... They never understand when I tell them that you have a laser projector. But *this* will show them!"

And I have to agree - it certainly will show them! Aaron's "City of Grove" show is fan-friggin'-tastic. I think I've watched it about a dozen times already. No... More than that. Probably 20 times by now. (Yeah, it's that good!) Got to be one of the defining moments of SELEM 2009...

*Huge* thanks to the EvilAdam for putting this together!

    Hey everyone!
Glad to see they are coming in! Thanks for all the great comments. I'm glad it's an eye pleaser.

    Aaron,
I agree, the camera needed to be more centered. I'm hoping to have a better HD camera next year. We'll see.

    David,
Thanks! The credit goes to Adam (Sugeek) for that one. He inspired me by sticking ol retardo on the DVD spindle he sent me. With a laser attacjed to his head too!

    Bridge,
Marc should have received his by now, along with your set. If he does not get it, please let me know.

    Matt,
It could very well be that the disk is bad, please let me know if you have any more trouble with it and I'll send you a replacement.

Thanks Again for all the great comments guys!

    Cool

The DVD player in my bedroom (cheap cybervision model) choked on the disc as well. It would play a short way into the shows disc and then hang. Same thing if I tried to select a scene... Some worked, others would hang.

But when I dropped it into the Sony player upstairs, it worked flawlessly. So it might just be that the discs are burned a little over capacity, and some players don't like that.

The other issue may be that they are DVD +R format discs. I've found that most of the cheaper DVD players prefer the DVD -R format. Don't have a clue as to why, but I've never had a problem with -R discs.

On the other hand, DVD +R discs sometimes fail even when I play them on the DVD burner on one of my older computers. (It's an 8X burner, and it doesn't like them unless they were burned on that particular drive.)

That would figure. It was burned on a Sony drive. The disks are DVD+R. I figured this was the superior format but who knows. They are definitely burned to the max, LOL! I had to trim just to get everything to fit. Maybe next year they will be burned on Blu-Ray! That'll be a trick!

Next year you might want to try DVD-R discs instead. They do seem to be more compatible, especially with older, cheaper DVD players and drives. That's been my experience, anyway.

Not sure how many PLers have blu-ray players though... Probably not nearly enough to make it worthwhile to release a Blu-ray version.
