    Default beam

thanks i get the beam path, but surely one of the horizontal beams has to skip over the top of the other or you would have a beam 6 or 7mm wide if you put them side by side , still a bit. i built a homemade six diode unit awhile back
and had all three horiz diodes at different heights to get good beam,a bit like this # with extra one in the middle on each axis

you are correct, and it will provide a wider beam this method. I can make one that will produce a square beam if you would like.

Just for you, next week I will make a quad with 4 singles. it is 4 more holes on the baseplate and two shims. The hard thing with shims is it is all too connected to the type of diodes you are using...may be I will provide the holes you guys provide the shimming...is probably a better plan. let me put some thinking into it...its no real biggie.

If you make hight difference in the set and use a horizontal knive mirror you can make a better beam I think.

    you got it mccarrot
i for one would not want to build one any other way, or beam would not fit my scanner mirrors

you are correct and stay tuned. it makes it just a tad more expensive (because you will use single holders instead of duals)...but keep watching for the QUAD COMBINER ELITE. may be monday

You will get better beam combining but customer will have to be responsible for shims, depending on which kind of diode they choose...there are too many variables. But I will provide the flexibility for you.
