Andy, in a couple of weeks I'll post you one of my prototype CC drivers ( upto 3A / 24V or the dual 6A / 24V ) for you to have a play with. They should just swap in place with a P3 on a similar TO220 mounting.

The P3 is a good driver just maybe a little over complicated for some applications.

I've only built my own as a) I couldn't get any P3's & b) I was a little concerned that it didn't fail safe in some cases which could damage diodes.

Im gonna just put me 2 pennies worth in here ....

Im using Dr Lavas P3 and i found it was one of the easiest drivers to set up ..... as long as you follow the Docs simple setup instructions it should work first time .... well it did for me

for my dual in series im using 12v @ 5 amp PSU ... plenty of current and a bit of headroom on the voltage

    for a quad in series i would recommend 24v @ 6amp

    all the best .... Karl

one of my problems is the lack of two ground (-) outputs, my bench psu's only work if both have a G connection.

only found this out a min ago so thats one problem solved

im sure the driver isnt fully to fault i do not hide the fact in poo with electronics. but i still dont think the driver is easy to use.

im game for testing any driver
