    Watch out!!!

He'll try and sell it to you, and with the prices he can get on International shipping & Insurance you'll have a hard time saying no.. infact it will take your wife buying a new car and kicking you in the balls to stop you.

    You've been warned.

It's amazing that he said that he looked directly into the beam for 1 second before looking away or blink ..
Glad the surgery went ok and he's going to partially have sight in that eye .

I doubt it was one second, as it was falling according to his description. Long enough to damage it seems though.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Yeah. Would i be right in saying that pointers are unmodulated as output? (i would have thought so but I know little of the way pointers operate).

If so that would go some way to explaining it as well. I'm not in any way lessening the danger from a modulated beam as you will have seen from my postings above, but in my experience at home with a piece of wood, an unmodulated beam is an order of danger far higher than a beam that is being modulated.

A modulated beam won't generally burn the wood in the powers I'm running although it can feel warm to touch on the hand / fingers and thus hot enough to burn eyes. An unmodulated beam however, causes the damage to the wood I posted above - literally less than 1 sec and the wood is burning. I wouldn't fancy anyone's eyes for even a millisecond under those conditions.

You must remember this from a post originally on LPF (now removed) caused by an 800mW 445, apparently he didn't feel anything at the time.
