    I don't know.

Yep running fast you lose a little brightness but on the other hand you can remove flicker caused by a high point count which can itself (the point count) add brightness back.

There are several beam cues I have that run 8-14fps and flicker. Running them at 40 or 50k might increase the FPS and remove the flicker.

I do agree though the main reason for speed is graphics.

I'd also be very surprised if these were mid range scanners. I think the stated aim a long time ago when these were 1st mentioned on here was to make something special to surpass even Cambridge so I would guess they're going to be high end ultra high quality, a view which seems to be mirrored looking at the materials listed.

    Hello Mr. Benner,

Would you care to inform us who provided the set of EMS-7000 ? Was it with the smaller or with the bigger mirrors ? You mentioned in another thread that the scanners came factory adjusted at 45K. No EMS-7000 has ever left our office tuned at 45K. They all leave our test room tuned exactly to what's advertised. The only thing we can think of is that this was a faulty set. We kindly ask the owner to send it to us for inspection and we will send in return a new set.

If you think about it for a moment, then it becomes clear enough : The very first thing each and every customer does with our EMS-7000 (including very big and respected companies like HB-Laser, Laser Animation Sollinger, RGB Lasersystems, LPS-Laser etc... ), after unpacking the scanners , is to test them...also against the 6215s... Would we continue advertising them as 60K, if our customers had come back to us complaining that this is a 45K scanner ?

We have to admit though that this negative advertising has done more good than bad ! The interest has doubled !!! Keep up the good work !!!!!

    Best regards,

Sorry to put my two cents worth in here but could not resist. I have loads of eyemagic scanners, not the new ones but older versions and to date none have failed, all have performed as expected and the price is great. Looking at the build quality of the 7000 units I expect these to be top notch and the BEST choice for price.

Too many people forget that Eyemagic have been on the market for many years and eyemagic scanners are used in a hell of a lot of professional systems and by a hell of a lot of professionals. They ARE comparable with the best CT but less expensive.

It makes me laugh lately that guys are running around like headless chickens buying the latest graphics card to play games with a better view.

I have a point for you all, if faster scanners could be made don't you think Cambridge would already be doing it, or a secret European company who are working on new scanners, hmm maybe those secret scanners being TOTALLY made in Europe will have a sticker on saying made in USA like many other products.

And then, if there were some amazing scanners out there, what the hell will you do with them that you can't already do with existing scanners or extra lasers. A logo with more points, how many times do you need to do a logo vs beam show.

    Jeez.

Maybe, maybe not. I guess that's going to depend on the cost : benefit ratio.

If eg Cambridge only see a small demand, or if the exotic material costs are so high that there's little room for profit as the final retail price would be so high as to stifle margins, then maybe not as it may not be perceived as commercially worth while.

Based on that same logic, RIM would still have the largest market share of smartphones, not Apple or Google. There will always be a better company. Cambridge is not the end-all. They probably make the best "consumer grade" galvo right now, but that may change at any time. To follow up with what White-Light is saying, I would think that most of CT's business is industrial/scientific, not light-show/entertainment.
If you're the smartest person in the room, then you're in the wrong room.

    Bill,

I don't understand your intensity regarding these Eye Magic scanners. I am enthusiastic about the development work you are doing and I repeat I will wait to see what you have before I buy my next scanner. And if they're good then... well you've got one sold.
But, in the meantime, I have been very skeptical about these 7000's simply because after the initial offering and the intense group buy frenzy then complete silence. And for months, nothing! Compare this to any of the diode threads, the Beyond thread etc. This is very weird. If I had been so smart as to buy the world's fastest scanner I would have set it up and run some projections THE FIRST NIGHT! I suspect they work and well enough that there has not been a mob outrage, but not so well that there has been anything worth mentioning.

Why not let this lie and when your scanner is ready then ramp it up?

    Hello Everyone,

We just got the information from Mr. Yayas (under the ''FLEM'' thread) that the set of our EMS-7000 that was brought at the FLEM for ''testing'' was actually brought by Mr. Bill Benner himself.

    The conclusions are yours.

By the way, we have never sold a set to Pangolin. So, from what ''factory'' the scanners came adjusted at 45K ?

Keep up the good work, Mr. Benner !

    Best regards,

    Tom Kamaras
