O.k., just watched the "after party" with The Who.... That made up for a lot of the earlier part of the show. And, yeah, you finally saw the crap ton of LED lights in the upper decks a little closer. THAT was a lot of work!

Yeah. You'll be buying that 21W CT laser of Marcs!
I'm surprised there weren't eye safety issues anyway actually putting banks of superbright LED's right next to people's heads.
I certainly know my cree based torch at 1600 lumens (claimed) would do some eye damage. It leaves long lasting after images from looking at the wall where it was shone!
Would that have been Jessie J? I thought her rendition of Queens we will rock you was rubbish. She certainly sounded off key.
No, it was some woman from Scotland, I didn't recall the name. I liked Jessie J's outfit but, I would have figured they'd use Domino as her solo song. As far as having her sing Queen, nobody will live up to Freddie but, if you're gonna do it, I would think you'd want to use a guy, not a girl anyway.
As I re-read what I wroted above, I came off sounding pretty negative last night and, it wasn't that I didn't enjoy the closing, just that there were some things that just made me really scratch my head. Annie Lennox in goth, riding as the adornment on the front of an unfinished ship??? (for example.)
I saw some laser pointers!?
When they scrap the ~70,000 seat LED array units, would you UK blokes kindly let us know where the auction is?
Other then that, Smashing, just Smashing...
No notable tech failures noted on this side of the pond, and hey, the ducking between the backup voice track and the actual vocals was seamless.
No wireless mike failures, etc.
In the US, NBC ran some lame new comedy between the closing and the after party, so I only saw 10 minutes of the Who.
Hopefully this forces the NFL to step up the half time for the Superbowl...
Steve
well steve ... if you are impressed that makes me happy![]()
now im looking forward to half time at the super bowl ( as long as it doesnt involve Jessie J who sang flat for most of the time )
all the best
Karl
anyone know mfg of LEDs used in the stands? I'm thinking it was these guys http://www.wiedamark.com/icolormodulefx.aspx 6:9 Could see an in and out wire on shots of them from the stands
I've heard it's Barco who did the LEDs, but if you're referring to the actual manufacturers of the diodes I have no clue.

Tait did the actual hardware integration.
