I work on a very similar laser to the one he uses, 90,000$ for the baseline femtosecond laser alone.

Anyone liking this will really like the "Light-In-Flight" technique of Nils Abramson from the late '70s or early '80s. He used picosecond pulses and holography to make animations of a wavefront in flight.
Do you have a link to where it could be found? Nils Abramson doesn't turn up many results in a search query.
Why $90,000 for a femtosecond system? Isn't it a fairly ordinary Ti:S?
