    Default Enhancement Requests

Just a couple LSX enhancements I wanted to submit to the good doctor that I thought the LSX community might want to comment on or append to:

    Show Player
    1. Ability to save show lists
    2. Ability to delete show entries (currently I think all you can do is change an entry to something else)
    3. Ability to double-click to start a different show while playing through the list
    4. Ability to start shows at a particular time (not important to me, but thought it would be useful to others)
    5. When an audio track is shorter than the show, the show gets stuck at the end and will not advance to the next song. (See related item in Timeline)

    Timeline Editor
    1. Shows with trickfilms running at the point when an audio track ends stay on (static) for a few seconds before the show shuts itself off. For safety reasons, lasing should be cut immediately, but it would be better to have it not get stuck just because the audio completed and simply continue to the end of the assigned show length and immediately stop lasing at that point.
    2. Animation/Trickfilm Dialogue - Animation Setup and Select CAT Source tab: Can we display the CAT file name somewhere on this dialogue? Same request on the Frame Selector dialogue.
    3. CAT Frames category under Timeline Settings - Edit Scanner Setting: Cat frames file does not list proper CAT file that is currently loaded. (Mine is always blank no matter what show and CAT frames file it has loaded.)
    4. On same dialogue, can we get a way to load a custom test frame? Not sure what the default is doing - is this set with the file path at the bottom of CAT Frames that lists C:\....\pic\testpic.pic by default?

Many thanks for the continued support for this awesome software!

Default Question: LSX export to ILDA format 0?

I originally sent this to drlava as a PM, but then I thought perhaps it was better to ask the LSX community. Apologies if this is the wrong thread; it looked appropriate.

I'm really interested in getting LSX 'someday' and putting it to good use with my 'someday' projector. The projector I have right now is the spencer 3d party light, a 7-color TTL RGB 12-15Kpps chijector that only reads ILDA format 0 files from SD card.

My question is can LSX save its shows to ILDA format 0? If so it would be great to pick up LSX now to learn while I gather resources to build my next projector with better scanner and a real ILDA interface.

If it looks like it can do this, would anyone who has LSX be so kind as to export a few frames of your choice so I can see if the spencer projector will play them?

I just don't want to invest in the software now to find I can't see the results until I finish my investment in better projector hardware. :-)

    Cheers,
    tribble

LSX does export to ILD, but i don't know which variation of the format.

i wonder if ildsos will handle ilda format conversion.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

it could be nice to know how to convert a show file to a ILD file...
i have no idea how. tried clicking "record to ilda" and running the show, then stopping the record...but i have no idea if it recorded at all the location of the file must be.

Tribble: download this: http://d.pr/f/2ySN a ilda file converted to ILD 0 with ILD SOS. see if your projector reads it.

record to ilda works correctly, it will create ILD file for each defined projector/timeline so for 8 timelines it will generate 8 ILD files, i'm not sure in which version these are saved

well i finally found the ild files they are stored within the show file that is loaded. unfortunatly there seems to be a max of frames in a ild file wich is about 4000 frames.
LSX films the ild file so fast that a piece of 2 seconds ilda filming in LSX costs 4000 frames and then automaticly stops filming(although lsx still shows its filming)
this means i must record and export every 2 seconds of a show....this is alot of work.
i wish the limit of frames in ilda could be higher or that lsx doesnt record so much frames in a second.

You are right: you can convert the ilda output from LSX to every ilda format using Ild Sôs, including format 0. This program is included with LSX by default.
It can also convert pic files, the native frame format of LSX.

That was a bug and should have been fixed... the limit was 4096 frames. I'll check it out but normally this is no longer the case. What version do you have? Try updating.
If you can only record 2 seconds with 4096 frames then you are running at ~2000 frames/second... I don't know how to fix that.

(edit) Just exported a 7647 frames and three minutes long ilda file without any problem (except forgetting to deselect the export to ilda button first, -_- ).
