    Default LASERIUM

It's been official for a while now, but now it's out on the street: LASERIUM® is returning to the McDonnell Planetarium at the St. Louis Science Center. This year marks the 40th (RUBY!!!) anniversary of the premier of LASERIUM® at Griffith Observatory. Of course we'll be starting the run with LASERIUM I - did I mention the anniversary? In its 1st run here in St. Louis starting in 1975 LASERIUM I ran for 92 weeks and was still selling out of the weekends when LASERIUM II premiered.

Ion Laser, CSL Projector, & performed live

That's brilliant news - Congratulations to all concerned in the 'revival of Laserium'

Now... When are you coming to the Uk???

Very nice. Sounds like a long awaited opportunity to see Laserium as it was intended

Will you be at the helm?

    Thx,
    Greg

Thanks - I'd like to make St. Louis a long term thing first - then world domination again.

Oh, no, Sir! All I did was help pack up a truck with a few bits! We do make a pretty good 'dynamic duo', tho.. I think we'll do just fine..

Actually, there's another PL-member, who also has 'ties' to Laserium, when it was there in good ol' BigBenLandia, and he just may-be 'our man', to help us tackle such a challenge... Think of him as the 'James Bond of Laserium..' we shall-see how things develop..

I think I’ve recovered from the three days on six hours of sleep prior to the premier of Laserium at the Saint Louis Science Center on Friday, and all the rest of the stress involved in bootstrapping this project. I did two shows Friday night. At some point early (very early!) Friday morning as I tweaked and prodded the projector – I realized that the fatigue and doubt had slipped away unnoticed, and I felt the spirits of all those Laserists who stood beside me (and I stood beside) all those years ago. And then Friday evening it felt good...

    Thanks to everyone’s spirits,
    Brian

What kind of patron turnout was there and how did you guys promote the opening?

Minimal advertising during the soft opening. I didn't "count the house". Since they don't have seats it looked like a geeky woodstock from my perspective on the projection balcony. (Without the mud too)
