Default Single stroke fonts & LSX ilda export question

Hey all! Hope everyone's weekend is going good so far! I have two simple questions I hope lol. If ya can help, I'd really appreciate it!

First, are there any what I guess is called single stroke fonts in the business. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, take a look at this video of Darien Lakes Tribute to America and Canada. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl92uVPd_E0) the font where it says God Bless America. It's a singe stroke font that cursively spells that out. I'm thinking the only real alternative maybe going thru quick pic edit and make each letter or the whole phrase actually. I'm looking to do a similar type show for a patriotic show in the summer. I know there's alternatives but like I said let me know if there's a way to simply do it.

Second, I'm playing around with LSX as some of you know. I read that is possible to ilda export. I've taken a quick look around and I think I'm missing something very obvious lol. So let me know if there is a way to do it. So I think that is all for now.

Thanks again, this is a very cool community and I can't wait to make some more contributions. Appreciate it all!!

there's a "record to ilda" icon on the top menu bar. it's between the "T" (fast laser text) and the search (binoculars).

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Hi,

Yes, it is possible to use "single stroke fonts". However you can't do this in the TTF event, as this loads a font installed on your computer and traces it, so there will always be a double outline.
You can get single stroke fonts by using a RunText event, unchecking the "use True Type Font" box if necessary and browse to a font in the Laser Typeface/Font path section (not with the Edit TTF Font button). In the Program Files\LaserShow Xpress\Font folder, you can select several fonts (select a random .pic file in the font folder). Fonts with a ".stic" extension are single stroke.

Another way to do it, if you don't want your text to scroll, is to go to PicEdit and use the text button. Same as above, make sure the TTF box is unchecked and browse to a .stic font.

I didn't mention how to export to ilda in my video tutorials... there's always something you forget eh :P
You need to select the "Record to ILDA file" button (the blue one between the fast laser text and binocular buttons). Everything you do will now be recorded to an ILDA file in the same location of your show file. (In fact you get 8 ilda files, yuk!) Make sure to deselect the record to ilda button when you're done, otherwise LSX won't write anything in the ilda files!
