Default Actuators for beam tables and shutters

    Hello all
I have a complete actuator solution this includes Actuator, Flag and dual driver the way they will be sold is Actuator and flag $45.00 dual driver $25.00. If you purchase two actuators at the same time plus the dual driver the total cost for everything is $100.00 50.00 a channel that is $15.00 off the regular price if you purchased them separately.

Mirrors are not included since everyone's needs will be different.

I will start with a small amount of stock available and if I find interest I will increase production to keep up with demand. with a very slight modification in flag length these should work in the MOBO Lazer beam tables as a drop in replacement part. I hope to have a beam table to Demo them shortly. They were at Selem last year I had two on beam rail and demoed them.

I think there is a video somewhere on PL. You can also refer to my signature for a link to more information on my website.

These are offered as an alternative to the budget minded hobbyist or for entry level beam rail design.

The current model is bare aluminum finish future runs will be anodized but I cannot say if the price will increase with the anodized finish.

Nice job. Good price. They are similar to ML actuators. Are they analog for fading or just on/off?

Hi and thanks for the positive feedback

They are on and off with the driver provided, single ended 12VDC supply will power it.

I have not tried a bipolar driver on them yet it should work and you would need analog not TTL, DMX to analog should work but again its theory at this point.

I have a Laser Media 8 channel driver but its a basket case at the moment and I cannot find schematics for it I have asked a few times on PL and no one seems to have them.

I designed it for my own use and thought other people looking for a low cost solution would also be interested as well but it seems to be a very small market as you can see the post has been pretty much ignored for the last three days. And its no like the PMs have been rolling in.

Unfortunately as cool as beam tables are, I do not think there are that many people looking to build the classic old school beam tables that went for many thousands of dollars back in the day.

Also I don't think the new solid state laser show projectors need a shutter so that will be limited as well as the Gas ION stuff fades away.

I will make them to order or may do a short run of 20 for now unless I see a sudden in-surge of interest.

So far if it was not for my own interest in developing them I would have wasted about 2 years of time and resources on this project. I like them they do what I want them to do and that's all that matters at this point it is what it is.

    Hi Mike!

Wow - that's a great price for these things! I need to smash my piggy bank and see what I can come up with...

For those of you who haven't seen these things, Mike had 4 of them on a baseplate running at SELEM last year in the on-stage area behind the main curtain. They are designed to work the same way the original Mobolaser actuators did. They are very reliable, very quiet (almost silent), and very fast.

All you need is some mirror stock for the flags and some adjustable mounts for the steering mirrors and you've got yourself a home-made beam rail! And at these prices, you could build a 10-turret array for 1/10th the cost of an 8 turret array at retail...

Really glad you decided to put these babies into production, Mike. They're far more affordable than GM-20's!

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    Hi Adam and Swamidog

All good and thank you for the reply. In a soft market like we have in the US right now this most likely was not the best time to release these it may have been better back in 2007 but they will be available on a per order basis and I may do a small production of 20 shortly I tried to make them as budget friendly as I could.

I will ask this to the group and would appreciate any reply's, Would you rather have the motor mount on the actuator Black anodized or would you rather keep the price the way it is?

    Michael,

I would have likely purchased these, had I not gone with GM-20's for my table. They look nice, and are a great price!

Is there a video of these available?

My preference would be lower price over the black anodized finish...

    Hi Greg
http://youtu.be/CgeUByKvLz4 this was at the beginning of the R&D. Some one shot a video of the beam rail at SELEM but I have not seen it show up on PL

    Adam

Do you remember who shot that video at Selem last year and where it may have gone?
