Ah, good idea. Awesome build. My contraptions tend to be miniature, so additional hardware just won't fit.
I am afflicted with severe artistic tendencies, which dictate what sorts of enclosures I use.
My current generation of museum builds are going into lunchboxen, for instance.
I'm also not that great a mechanical engineer, but I'll give this a shot next time I am building into something reasonable.

    Digression follows:

Here's an example of a Lumia PJ made out of a vintage stage light:

and one of our Molecular Disrupters:

    This is a scanner jobbie:

And the whole bloody lot of them:

    Thanks for the advice...Mike

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Very good find- instant Steam Punk-- I just got an early model of the Kodak Ektagraphic
model AF-3 projector and stripped the guts-($5) it will house a lumia some day. I thought is was cool to make a old(er) projector into another projector. There is ample room to knife R,G &B.

looks Ok but yours is way COOLER-

I bet there are a lot of those gathering dust at thrift shops and peoples attics..

Great Thread with great links-- len

Great post clickamouse. Lots of great resources.

Whittemore-Durgin Stained Glass Supplies has a good sample pack of glass for ~30 bucks. It has many many good pieces, some not as good, and a few useless for Lumina® projects.

    Nice, thanks, Mike.

I've noticed that under-voltage battery starts will start a motor close to stall voltage when a similar voltage from a bench supply won't. I think there's a little voltage spike when the battery is connected that gets the rotor spinning.

Ah, good suggestion. I'm running with little mini-supplies; I'll try putting a cap across the motor-might give a similar boost.

And hey; your new dome thang looks very cool. I love the idea of the water diffraction.
Damn shame we're on two different land masses; love to hang with you some time.

    Thanks...Mike
