Hello, I recently purchased an cvgf-lt49-2gen. I participate in car shows and thought this would be an awesome add on for our night shows.
I've been combing the forums and trying to figure out how to create a couple versions of our Club logo. I thought something like that would be fairly straight forward. Boy was I wrong.
I think I need traceit so I can create a trace of our logo but short of spending money on it I haven't been able to find it. I really hate to spend more money than I have on this since it will get such rare use.
If someone would lend me some assistance I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks

For a no/low cost solution, Either download Laserboy or contact DSLI_JON on this forum for a Logo. Jon is a trained commercial artist and I'm sure he'll bang out a logo for you for a few bucks. You can also go the SVG and ILD SOS route, if you have more time.

I have laserboy and I understand the basics of what to do with it. I guess I'll keep plugging away. What it looks like too me is that even though I open a bmp with laserboy, because it's not a trace it's not working right.
    Thanks for answering me though.

You can open a bitmap as the background of the screen and use LaserBoy's drawing capabilities to trace vectors over your bitmap.

I think you just solved my missing link. I'll give it a try tonight when I get off work.
    Thanks again.

Feel free to ask questions. It helps flesh it our for other people who might want to draw with LaserBoy!

For logos, I've had really good luck with bmp2ild. Here's a video demonstration of the author doing a logo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmLaOCz4uH4 ... download link is here: http://c4r0.elektroda.eu/_hv/lasers/bmp2ild_v2.exe . Of course just simply displaying a plain logo is kinda boring, so then I open the .ild file in LaserBoy and add some cool effects, like rotation and stuff.

    Hi DogP!

Did you every try writing your own effects and compiling them in the LaserBoy code?

Not yet... I haven't had much time to work on fun stuff lately. :/ I've still got my USB sound card project sitting next to me too. :-P

DogP , I bought one since my new job is on the road. Sticking a mini-15 connector on was easy. However on mine, modifying the diode drivers has not been easy. It uses a Pmos transistor to short the bias current as in your schematic. However mine is very sensitive to ground loops and almost any noise will turn the drivers on. Did you find a way to tame the sensitive FET for external modulation?

If not, I'll just replace the drivers.
