...Arrived at the trotthouse about 45 min ago.......aaaaaaaaand UNCONSCIOUS!
Buffo, Swamidog: I'm attempting a 9:30 breakfast.
See you all in a few hours!
Whew! Talk about a bunch of work! Fortunately, it's all shaping up very nicely. We still need to hook up the two sound systems, but all the speakers are in place. (including those monsterous folded-horn subs - damn they are heavy)
Still need to set up the beam show projectors in the auditorium, but the white light ion laser is all hooked up and cooking nicely at around 5 watts. And "Club-SELEM" is really starting to look good, but we still have a few more projectors and lights to hang, plus we need to do something about all the cable runs.
Dinner last night at Texas Roadhouse was a blast! I think we overwhelmed the manager a bit, but she took it in stride. Ended up not leaving there 'til 10 PM... Then it was back to the hotel for some booze, some very soft music (so as not to wake the other hotel guests) and various laser displays on the walls and ceiling of the conference room. Lots of good conversation, and even a quad-copter show, thanks to Chris (Lazerjock).
So yeah, we're behind on some things, but that's pretty typical. Worst case, I might have to push the color board presentation back a bit if we don't get everything done in the morning. But really, considering the amount of gear, we're not in bad shape at all. (And I think we will be caught up by noon.)
Big thanks to everyone who arrived early to help with the load-in. It always goes smoother with more hands! Also, thanks to DZ for dinner. It seems my money is no good here in Newton... I can't ever seem to pay for food! (He was really sneaky too, because I had already told the waiter that I was a separate check by myself...) Anyway, thanks David!
Well, I ned to get my shit together. Today is going to be a long day; I still have lots of unfinished tasks on my to-do list. I think I'll head down to the car and draw up some signs for the doors of the auditorium while I have some free time before breakfast... To everyone who will be arriving today, we should have everything finished in an hour or two, so we're really not as far behind as it would seem.
See you all soon!
Adam
PS: Regarding a live broadcast, Mario (ragdoll) brought some cameras, and there is WiFi available, so I'm hopeful that it will work this time. Aaron (allthatwhichis) will probably help him get it all set up, and once they have it broadcasting I'll remind them to post the details here so everyone can tune in.
Hey guys, please share a couple of pictures along the way for those of us who wish we could be there! This weekend we are throwing a party for my Wife's 40th so that didn't work out but I already told her I'm coming next year... Woohoooo! Man I would pay for video of Dr. Lava or Swami's LSX lectures and would love to see a pic of some of your setups, projectors in all their glory scanning the same ILDA signals... Or different signals, whatever ....
Have fun everyone! Enjoy the fellowship ....
