suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
yes it is and now I have to build or buy a new unit which works well, got some stuff together 2 red 623 250mw, a 250mw 532 green and a 1.2w 445 blue, but have been having trouble finding mounts for the modules and case is expensive as well. seems cheaper to buy one already built. Just using it for home entertainment only, but I want some decent power 1-2watts.
dave @ lasershowparts.com is a good source for mounts
dtr @ https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/ is a good source for diodes
onestoplasershop.com is a good source for dichros and mm1 clones.
i'd throw away everything but the case...

This is definately a classic example of the types of chinese lasers that we all complain about. However... what does need to be said is generalizing and stereotyping of all chinese companies to this level of quality IS a bit unfair. There ARE some manufacturers in China turning out very nice, well built, quality projectors but, one does need to be wary I'm afraid. Regrettably you did get one that's far less than satisfactory. Anyone who has seen my Pluto II's from Eightonlight for example, would tell you they are a hell of a lot closer to Kvants in terms of quality than to the chinzy crap found on eBay and other places. CR-Tec is generally another good one. My understanding is Goldenstar is also a company trying hard to put out a quality product. But, based on the above evidence, certainly NOT X-Laser HK.
Indeed. This has become a popcorn thread.Highly entertaining. I don't usually do schadenfreude, but there are exceptions. Is anyone keeping score? I have no idea how many X-Lasers there are now.
Sooo... Dmitrylin,
Perhaps I'll make a suggestion. If you would like to disprove all the notions about X-Laser HK products, how about providing a series of photos of a couple of your projectors. I would suggest carefully photographing the outside ot the case, the inside of the case with good pictures of the dichros, mounts, modules, and scanners. Then perhaps a picture showing a power meter reading from the aperture of the projector (with both the projector and power meter/cables all visible). And, since many people here pick up a lot of subtle information about quality from the actual output of the projector, a few pictures of universally recognized test frames.
You've seen me give credit where credit is due, as there are some chinese manufactures who are working hard to produce a quality product. If you feel X-Laser HK should be among those, then lets see some evidence to demonstrate it.
Would you not agree that, if someone is spending a lot of money on an item such as a laser projector, since they are often unable to come to China and look at it in person, that at the very least, providing such good photographs are in order? If nothing else, I would think your company would want to do that small thing, in an effort to increase worldwide sales.

Hehehehe. Classic!
Sorry Dmitrylin, but there is a very good point highlighted there. If you trade in another country, advertising in their language, you should at least google your intended business name to find out whether you are treading on anybodies toes. With a company as big as X-Laser (USA) there is no excuse to trade with that name. The only reason that it is allowed is due to international trade agreements. Unfortunately the people who set them up are not the ones that have a lifetime of work to create a good name for their company ruined by others.
