Thanks swami, yep had just got done doing that. Will have to fiddle with it as the brightest beams are not the ones landing. Figure it just needs a good setup now that I understand. If I land the brightest beams as I had been they never deflect. Not converged but now working.

Even looks like I stole your abstracts lol

He's dealing with a very early generation AOM cell. It has vertical, horizontal, and angle sweet spots that are hard to hit. It takes me an hour on those. He needs to practice to get it right. When I get back on the net after my flight to Europe, maybe I can help him.

Don't overdrive that RF driver, it will burn out the input. They are current driven, not voltage driven.

Thanks now that I understand the workings I should be set with some time. The manual walks through it over a few pages. Will just take some time, it looks.

Did this system live in Dayton at one time? If so I worked on it 15 years ago.

Also, did you get the tuning pattern card? Fenning (may he rest in peace) had a brilliant little card that outputs a ramp and a step.

Not sure, for scanners or AOMs? The rack does have the pattern card. The system has always been in Michigan.

Can I use first contact on entrance and exit of the crystal of the AOM. Guessing it is fine but wanted to double check.

Since these are likely Tellurium Dioxide which is soft. I Recommend use of optical swab with methanol.

If you open the AOM, beware of breaking the bond wires on the RF transducer. They are usually 1/3rd the size of a human hair.

    Hey PB,
At some point, you might want to consider looking for a 4 channel PCAOM and dedicate all 4ch's to modulating the argon lines. Keep 1 aom to modulate the HeNe with and combine with a pass Green/Blue Reflect Red dichro.. I do that in my main
Projector which gives a wider color palette and cuts the optical losses with separation and recombining the argon laser through the separate aoms.. Hope this makes sense...

Yeah, the losses on AO color are brutal.
