yeah because i am the underprivileged, one of my friends gets the better quality stuff and from time to time i talk scene into him and we build some equipment and i get his hand me downs and thats a huge step up for me and i get to scavenge a bit too and we both agree that monster cable is still a joke, we usually build out own interconnects and use and up date vintage equipment, since i am a qualified electronics tech it lowers the cost a great deal, my speakers are from 1986 but with updated crossovers i would put them up to speakers 10 times there cost.
The best joke i have seen are the little green disc addons for CDs aside from protecting the disc from scratches they have no point. the best i have seen to date is some one putting peanut butter on the label side pf the disc have having it play great, that and double azimuth vcrs, they all where double azimuth.....
Now one i will agree with first and second gen cd players did indeed have a flaw that was fixed with the DAC the major flaw u have found with monster cable(aside from cost and hype) of the fit so tight the can bust off the rca jack or bust off inside the rca jack
