Very neat. Though I imagine the wiring will be a bit tight in places.

i was talking to drlava this evening and he gave me a clue about handling z-scale on lissajous abstracts.

that led into me doing some button mashing and figuring out how to map abstracts to surfaces... in real time with clipping and layer masking.

    here's a quick example i hacked together.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Wanna plan a 'proper' one, now that the Studios are re-open and we Can-host, etc, but.. *first*, I've got to 'clean my kitchen', and OMG, is it 'piled with dishes'.. +_+ So, sorry, no 'SoCaLEM, proper', till I get all my backlog cleared.. Someday I'll breathe again..

Beautiful stuff! Do you know if that's 3 or 4 layers, Jon?

I sincerely appreciate it when you post these mixed bunches of laser goodi-ness. I have spent several hours staring at the laserium pics and dsli pics on the website and facebook accounts for home imitation and inspiration purposes. I hope to make it out your way one day and see some of this stuff live!

    Cheers!

Looks to me like 'only 2', in that shot.. the 'main spiral' is on One channel (layer) and the other is shot thru a 'hi-order x-grating', but the PJ is capable of about *12* 'layers' at the same time (..though, conceded, output would be a mite-bit 'dim', at that point.. Still, you san see how even adding One 'additional layer' (second-scan channel, w/ w/o diff, or lumia, etc..) can wholly-enrich even a simple abstract (like this one is / was.. Certainly not the 'most-complex of abstracts'..
