I also got a new toy, although not of the RC variety... A track bike to go with my road bike

Just about to leave for Brands Hatch for a track evening, can't focus on anything, all a-dither, adrenaline working over time, no appetite... and it doesn't start for 3.5 hours!

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

I built and flew balsa models as a kid, but that was a long time ago. I have already decided to pick up a trainer tomorrow, and also have a flight sim on the way that links with my RC radio. The jet may not fly this weekend, in fact not. In no rush, my initial purchase was perhaps however.

I've no doubt that you'll get it back quickly - I did when I started flying slope soarers after a 20 year break from powered, but those first couple of flights and landings would never have been made if I'd started with the composite soarer I have now, and I'd probably have stopped there.

Yes, good advice and your not the only one in my circle to say so. I never anticipated that ducted fan models would so much harder to fly, as there is no wash over the rudder and elev until you have serious speed or that jets in general are just so much faster. This model does just on 100km/h.

100 KPH! Wow... I figured it would be fast when I heard it wind up in the video, but that's seriously fast. I agree that you'll probably want some trainer-time before you put that one in the air for the first time.

Still, I'd love to see some video of it when you do finally fly it!

I bought a 450mm wingspan trainer today. One flight in already, it's a doddle. Looking forward to a lot of flying this weekend. I want to be absolutely sharp and second nature before the jet goes up.

This is so easy to fly it's ridiculous. Gyro stabilisation rocks.

Well I got around 5 minutes flight time in this morning with the micro trainer. Not bad, I have a long way to go in the brain hand Dept.

A gust came in when I was quite high, I lost control and hit the top of a tree. With absolute skill I hit every branch on the way down but it did reach the ground.

I have had to straighten the prop shaft, reglue the gearbox motor combo and rejoin the tail and elevators lol. Much joy. Rebuild Stephanie.
