    Default Lexel 75 question

    Hiyas.
I was gifted a Lexel 75 system by Sugeek this weekend.
The orig 75 PSU is having issues. I was wondering if I could run the 75 head on an 88 PSU without adverse results.
what are the diferences between the 75 PSU voltages and the 88 PSU voltages?
Are the pinouts on the connectors the same?
    Thanks,
    Nate.
    Will there be three phase!!!!

No, the interlock pins are deliberately different to prevent what you are trying to do...
    +
Differences, 50 watt 2.6V cathode vs 3.3V 75 watt cathode.. The cathode transformer is much HOTTER in the 88.
    +
Series magnet, in series with the tube current on the 75, VS magnet with external power on the 88.
    +
106-112V tube VS 166-175V tube in the 88. Unlikely that an 88 buck/boost could ever be tapped down low enough to run the 75.
    +
Values are changed on the control card to reflect the lower maximum current on the 75. A 75 is at full current where an 88 would be barelyy above idle.
    +
Never tried it, but VERY likely to end in a fried passbank in the 88.

DJMATT has some 75 parts in his fire sale... Including a working PSU.

The PSU is in my garage waiting for a ride down to Vidalwolf's place next month there was no room in his vehicle after the LEM. We had an interlock issue with it and didn't get it up. If a manual could be dug up a 75 it might help.

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

Its a like a tiny 88 with less passbank transistors and a usually a board with LEDs instead of NEONs.. I have drawings some place.

I'd love to get my hands on a dead old 75 power supply for display, especially if it has sloping sides. Don't care if parts are missing inside.
