I like Sargon. And, saw this yesterday. I agree with his take. This is a plausible scenario. I just don't think it has clearly been shown to have occurred. What is so important, SO IMPORTANT, is how prevalent this is. As well, it it telling how little outrage we see about this and other issues such as CURRENT, global slavery and FOREIGN racial intolerence and buterchy. BUT he ABSOLUTELY calls Bill Clinton a rapist and pedophile with his jaunts to his private island with Epstine on the Lolita Express. He has also provided ENDLESS FACTS that pedophilia with the elite and Hollywood is a UUUUUGGGGGEEEEEEE PROBLEM (as trump would say). Global warming - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can be done about it, except STOP industry. Now, I say we move on.

This is not because I do not want to discuss these issues, but rather because I feel they have been covered adequately. The Hillary supporters/defenders have stopped trying to argue on her behalf. Trump will be the next president for at least the next 4 years.

So, what is next? Based on his likely appointments and his stated plans and philosophy, what will happen in the US and Europe, Asia and the Mid East? I'm more interested in the non-US effects. As Americans (most of the participants on this forum), we have a tendency to treat the rest of the globe as a homunculus or that classic cartoon of the New Yorker's view of the rest of the United States:

But, if Trump is a sign or symptom or as I have stated earlier, a catalyst, then what is going to happen? Many of of us are not hopeless retches sitting in a basement, depending on a government check or planning to loot the nearest liquor store in response to a perceived insult. Some, hopefully many, are pursuing patents, building businesses, planing to relocate (maybe internationally), accumulating wealth or spending it.

Some might view the future with fear and others, with excitement. Either way, what will be the leading trends and how do we position ourselves to deal with them?

If you haven't noticed Eric, this thread stopped being posted to after every ridiculous conspiracy theory got pasted into it.

If you have personal issues that you are unhappy about such as Muslim refugees moving into your tiny home town or perceptions of the 'white man being held down by minorities' that you want to turn into some grander political position, that fine. I'll even debate you on those issues as long as it remains a semi-intellectual / factual conversation. Arguing with crazy, however? Not me.

Assuming he hasn't been trolling us the whole time, I hope that most of us (both sides of the political spectrum) see that encouraging Pat is simply misguided and possibly dangerous. Who here would be surprised if we read of another anarchist prone to believing conspiracy stories was involved in a shootout with local police? I noticed you posted about your projector projects for 2016 and they sound quite interesting. Have you noticed that the engineering, technical discussions and progress reports that used to populate this forum have dried up? I have. Other than a few updates about get togethers and questions about an occasional diode there is very little activity. Mostly, this has become a shopping review site.

I am working with a university on quantum dot lasers, but the response I have had to my previous posts in the technical threads have rarely elicited more than an occasional response. It is tiring to feel as if you are dragging people along who are genuinely not interested.
