    Best show ever...
I like that one. Could easily have been just a dazzling assemblage but it's a strong performance. They seem to like WideMoves too, some VERY wide scan angles there. Considering how many sources they had, I hate to think what it would cost if they'd all been ultrafast graphic scanners.

There's always an emphasis on the big show, it seems. Raves, etc.. No live solo or small group performances? Got to be some milage in the idea of a band of live players doing a show based on lumia and one or two projectors each. And I don't mean like some DJ's do with music, starting one auto-sequence playing while another is set up to do the same a few minutes later, I mean actual live work, so they feed off each others ideas and skill the way jazz players do. Are there shows like this?

I thought they couldn't scan that wide. or is an illusion based on a narrow fan passing close to a camera?

scan angle 60 degree. On camera the angle can look bigger.

When my friend and I do visuals+lights small shows they're all done on the fly to work with the DJ. We will be doing the same with the laser when it comes in a few days.

Guess i'll be the one posting video up here soon

Mhm, that's exactly what we do. I'd post video, but it's really hard to get the laser to look good on video. I have a little video here, but the sound is dubbed because the shots are cut from several hours of the party:

Hey, that's brilliant, and a particularly innovative way to use a scrim

I love the music too, what is it?

    Thanks! :-)

I wish I could remember what the music is. This video is a few months old now and I can't remember what I stuck on it.

So you run a projector into a scrim??? I can't see a laser having enough scan rate to draw that Whatever it is.. looks very very cool and it's something we don't have down here in little old New Zealand. Nice work!

Actually we run three projectors into scrims- we have three ViewSonic PJ1158s which we've goosed out a little to get 4500 lumens a piece. We run these from a Matrox TripleHead2Go. Our visuals workstation is a MacBook Pro totally riced out, driving the TripleHead2Go and a second 15" TFT from a Tritton See2 Xtreme, giving us extra space for control palettes.

We have a second machine (older MacBook Pro) which runs the laser, and a third MacBook Pro we use for media prep and audio streaming (yes, we broadcast the show on interweb radio.)

It's quite a build but eh, we get results

A few photos from our last underground:

A few photos from our last big party: (yes, that's me spinning)
