Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
Haha... I actually had to flow my tube backwards to get a couple dead bugs out of the water jacket right where it pinches down into the magnet. I guess the psu sat a little TOO long![]()
Are you saying that DPSSes aren't beautiful in their own way? You just need the eyes to see it, and by that I mean ones sensitive to infra-red:
Wow Gooey you even wash by laser:
A 4 cycle, 3 temperature laser, now that is impressive.
Most of them are too busy working on shows to do anything more than poke their heads in here once in a while. But they are out there. Clandestiny supports himself full time doing shows. Robert Mudryk does the same. Neither one posts here on anything close to a regular basis.
On the other hand, Johnathan, Dreambeamz, Have-Unlocked, Laser-Wizardry, and GottaLuvlasers are all doing professional shows on at least a part-time basis. And, understandably, they have more time to post here.
But just because they don't reply to every thread doesn't mean they're not listening. Remember that survey thread that Zoof started a while back - the one about which controller you were using? He only got 50 replies, yet we have over 10 times that many members. Post count isn't everything you know.
The ones that say "go big or go home", whether they are pros or just hobbyists, are simply recognizing that there is a distinct difference between a show in your basement and one for money. The laser show market has been hurt over the last 5 to 8 years or so by the explosion of cheap lasers. Smaller clubs and venues have booked laser shows run by would-be-hobbyists that do not have variances or insurance for their equipment. They also do not have any back-up equipment, nor do they have enough power to overcome the ambient lighting in the venue.Im not sure why everyone is always talking about going big and going pro.
Sure, they bid the show for 1/4th the cost of a professional company, but the result is a lame laser show (or no show at all if something breaks). Some of these shows were also unsafe. It only took a couple years of this to seriously harm the market. Go talk to a professional laserist in your area and ask him how much he would charge for a single projector, 1 watt RGB show, and then ask him if any nightclubs in the area would pay that kind of money for a laser show.
