But I thought the laser diode itself wouldn't be included... Do you think we will be able to order those with the kit or should we stock up on those in advance?

That includes The base plate, 3 mounts, collimator lens, 2 broadband AR cylindrical lenses for correction, TEC, FlexDrive P3, diode mount, black anodizing, lasorb, and we're looking for a cover. They are hardware mostly, driver optional, you supply whatever diode you wish as the builder.

if he is preparing to selling RUNNING LASERS putting light out when you open the shipping carton...that will take time (blah, cdrh, blah blah)...if it is a kit with no diode that is faster An he will just have to wiggle your way out of the grey area but it is no different than the kits I sell....so to speak, in the CDRH eyes...It must be good.... because this is super top sekret NEED TO KNOW basis. My guess is a plan is still being developed on the many variables and price ranges for each product...but then again...I may have a monkey in my butt. (not saying that he has...im just saying I might)

had to edit...if your projector is certified then it is a component...but that dosnt escape ALL conditions set forth for manufacturing an OEM component...you would still have register it and be approved...so it is a KIT

It seems the diode/s are not included. I think its a good idea to get needed diode/s now. I have mine sitting here waiting.

Ah thanks for that, i didn't see that post.. Great stuff - I've got my 445 diode ready & waiting. All that remains to be seen is how soon you lot will have em. I'm waiting for a possible solution here in the UK

if its meant to go inside a CDRH certified device I thought the CDRH doesn't have anything to do with the OEM modules?

the "OEM" has the responsibility as a manufacturer (their required responsibilities). The skittles lead somewhere, always.
