I'm puzzled how this had been stepped on ?

What shocks me is that any laser company considered the head-burning incident so minor that it uploaded a video of the event! After seeing this, I'm not surprised that there is little sympathy in this thread after the second serious documented incident.

Not a problem. I took it as a joke. Also, I said enough to take it as a cue, rightly or wrongly, that I might be overdoing it. I often do. I managed to say at least one thing twice.

    Hi All
I've had a few phone calls not just regarding this but also other aspects of lighting regarding lasers and other light sources.
Due to the power levels that are now available commercially, wouldn't it just be better to stick to the 2.5mw/CM2.
Lets deal with lower lighting levels.

    Clive.

Ok, these guys are sick... with such behavior their pretty soon will be blind too... at least

Playing with 40W like with matches? It's like a graving machine, if not cutting! I the place where is so much glass - windows and so on... have you thought that one layer of uncoated glass can give them up to 3-4W reflection? that's sick. no goggles, no precaution, nothing. And finally, smoking the area and making it dispersive? looks like the only thing LHL do know 'bout lasers is that there is a source and that beam goes in a straight line (and the latter is flawed, actually). Sorry, I had no intention to be insulting... but I'm shocked

The more I think about this, the more I think that the laser community calling them out is absolutely the right thing to do.
It is clear from this thread that they have been called out before and not changed their practices. What is going on Laser Hire London?

This is a massive chunk of the laser show community on this forum. It is we who have to deal with expensive safety legislation, training and implementation caused by actions that usually end up closing down those who ignore it in the first place.

I spotted yet another video - out of morbid fascination I must add. This looks horrible, especially as these are kids at an 18th birthday party.

This whole thing has made me quite upset and it's not nice seeing people entirely unaware that they are potentially in danger.

I'm think I have probably vented enough and would like to put this thread to rest and never see another like it on PL.

Please, if you stay in business, remove all of your videos that suggest malpractice and follow the advice in HSG95.

    Keith
