The pattern card does both the AO and the Galvos. It is primarily for tuning the galvos. However its ramp can be used on the AO.

Now a question, since you have the decoder manual and possibly the schematic..

Can you see if the decoder internal tuning changes if Beta, UMatic, or SVHS tapes are used? There is a FM subcarrier Fred Fenning tapped out on the VCR, that is the little RCA jack added to the back of the VCR next to the video plug. I have all three types of tape and I know Betamax VCRs used a bit different subcarrier then SVHS.

There is a reason the ILDA award for technical achievement is named after Fenning, the man was brilliant.

Still trying to figure out if I'll keep this projector. Have to see if I can get more red, by cleaning and walking the mirrors. It is the spectra 127 laser but just the OEM version a 107 or 907 can't remember which. Original from 87 not sure what it has left in it. I know 40+ mw was common place new.

Then yes I have the pattern card. I really like the fact that this came with full schematics and diagrams. Makes it fun chasing the stuff and seeing how the driver cards etc work.

See if your HENE head has the peaking screws on the side and/or the mirror locking screws on the side. The Brewster cover boots break from old age. If you can get a sterile swab from the local pharmacist, its is better to clean without the taking the boots off. You do this by removing the mirror. The easiest thing to do is replace the hene with a 170 mW diode.

The swab of choice for HENE is a glue free 25-806-1wc.htm individually wrapped Puritan swab with no glue and a wood shaft.

Could you please see my edited post below. I do not have the manuals and just gained some beta tapes.
I only have the SVHS VCR.

I have used the DV decoder on one inch reel, umatic, and svhs. Never beta, I have a betaSP deck and can dub and test for you next week. nothing is mentioned in the manual that I have on tape formats only SVHS is mentioned. There several different versions of the DV EPROM in U6. I only know this as each of my 3 decoders have different chip ver. I do not have schematics for the DV decoder only the FM10 portion that was reel 2 reel.

Well by just rocking coarse adjustment on the HeNe have it up to 28mw from the 18ish I started at. Thinking if I actually clean the mirrors and brewster might see some more.

Just not sure I'm up for that yet. Amazing how quickly the beam disappeared with just slightly rocking coarse.

And she is now an ilda rig, surprising it doesn't look awful at 30k at a pretty hefty angle. Amazed how good gas looks. Other than the shear brightness of solid state, this rig wins hands down on colors and blanking.

Yes! I made this for a IMAX theater in Dallas before higher power LD's were available and affordable.
