    Default Sad direction of things...

In general. Seems this was place where I could read, study, and contemplate a new project. Well it looks as if that has gone too. Lets all do something to change the direction that the forum is slipping off into...Please? I have something all will be interested in. A new project for PL members only. I cant say much about it until I have a few of them tested and make sure its the spot on the cow. All I can say is that it is in the lower band of the spectrum. It is not a finished deal...some assembly required. More to come after I get a good message from the manu on the test results from them.

What direction is that then matey?

I see that there are a lot more grumpy folks in here but it's in the nature of people to complain.
When you consider the sum total of (English speaking) Laserists in the whole world then there ain't a whole lot of us (on a percentage of population basis) so we are a pretty small community anyways.
I for one am glad I found PL but I guess we can always improve/refine/adapt.

    Any ideas?

    Amen!

AS for the project, I am down to have more of your home made lasers in my projector. I can even provide that real world testing if you need it. My projector has been on for atleast 4 hours today, and I got 5 or so till I think about going to bed.

OK then you are beta tester for first unit....if for some reason you dont get the advertised results...send it back to me for a full refund as long as your dog/cat did not eat it,you didnt wash it with the laundry, accidently back your car over it, etc, etc. Then again I cant expect a charge until you decide you want to keep it.....

    Agreed!

    However...

Hopefully, since a LOT of attention was drawn to way things have been "out of kilter" lately, I think there will be a noticeable "calming effect" on the forum - at least for a while!

I guess some level of clashing of personalities should be expected, especially with an active forum such as ours, with world participation amd very different viewpoints. I think it will be up to all of us to "police ourselves", so to speak, and "reel each other in" when things start getting TOO far out of whack!

As far as your project in the works - please count me on the "very interested" list!

I've noticed a difference in tone and direction since i started reading here quite some time ago. It's sad, but, i feel it is easily fixable. Just takes a little work, effort, and consideration to what a person is about to say. Maybe. Hell, what do i know???

I think this forum is more friendly to all kinds of laser lovers compared to any other way or means to talk about lasers. I think I mentioned it in the past but getting into it involved getting your throat cut by other laser show companies because they were worried you would steal their business.

What do you mean by the lower band of the spectrum? I always considered that to be red in the visible spectrum. Then I'm interested.

If it's around 450 nm I'm even more interested (but my interest drops rather sharply around this point).
