    Hey guys,

Today i received news that my project that was planned for 29th and 30th of august is postponed to September 12 weekend. I will check tomorrow if it absolutely certain that i can have the weekend off. If that is confirmed i want to come to UKLEM !
I really would love to meet you guys in person.

I have to check a lot of prices of boattrips etc (Calais - Dover, Oostende - Dover, Dunkerque- somewhere) and stuff like that.

I could even bring my (still very diverged green laser), hopefully Ledfreak3D has some time coming weekend to help me tune it. This green set doesn't use the Raytrack 35plus scanners, but the cheap scanners i bought of Ebay.
Maybe someone can give me a quick headsup how to tune it, some things about tuning a scanner are unclear for me at this moment (ok that sounds probably very dumb, but if i don't ask i stay dumb....)

@Rob: if my Laserpowermeter arrives before UKLEM, this would be a nice opportunity to come and pick it up in person ? Just a 1000 mile drive, but hey, i get to see some cool lasers and meet the coolest, wisest dudes in the laser business :-)

What's that what i am reading about parking tickets ? Do i need to worry or is it ok to come to UKLEM without being towed ?

Furthermore, there is a list of websites of hotels and such posted.
Does anyone have a recommendation for one ? I just need a bed and a shower.
What times is the UKLEM taking place ? I only see 30th august not a time ?
Are other people coming from afar also already around 29th to have a drink / eat somewhere in the evening ?

My plan is now to leave Saturday early, arrive in the evening, maybe eat out somewhere, sleep, do UKLEM sleep and go back on monday in the morning/afternoon.
But then i need times how late it starts and ends.
End time is also important for choosing a place to sleep, a B&B probably won't be happy if i enter very late (if it ends late).

Well lots of questions, hope someone can help me.
Tomorrow will be a big day then, hopefully no other work is placed in that weekend, then i can start planning .... man... i am excited !

    Hey Dimitri
It would be great if you could come and yes your meter should be here in time.

As for parking myself and Soforene were both subjected to parking tickets and we both have ignored all the letters and they have stopped. They are, as the moneysaving expert suggests not enforceable and they have no legal grounds to take the matter to the courts. The idea is simply to frighten people into giving them money.

As is tradition I think we should ajourn to Firebug for food so can we have a show of hands to indicate numbers as if it gets to be quite a few then we will need to warn them in advance. Menu here http://www.firebugbar.co.uk/

There will be some door prizes - Andy Con and Bridge have provided some prizes though we have not organised the 'big' raffle as bythe time we had firmed up the event it was a bit tight to start one off so I think we should postpone this for the December Surfleet event - so no excuses for not buying lots of tickets for then. Door prizes are avail to attendees only. Anyone else like to offer a prize?

So if ya not on the list - get on it. Sorry to PaulK who now cannot attend - but will be coming to Surfleet. Come on the rest of you lets get the numbers up best laser day you will have this August

The parking scumbag mother raping nonces didn't get a penny out of me.

Although BK (the club caretaker) took our tickets and said he would deal with it, absolutely nothing was done with the result that Vehicle Control Services tried to extort money out of four of us by sending threatening letters (with lots of BOLD RED ink) saying that we'd be taken to court, credit rating affected, Baillifs sent in etc.
But after checking out sites such as Consumer Forums it transpires that these lowlife pricks are just trying it on to frighten people into paying them a stupid amount of money for nothing at all.

Bottom line is that if you get a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) then that is issued by bona fide traffic wardens and you have to pay it.
If you get a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) then this is an invoice to pay for services which you have not agreed to.
You see what they did there?
It's all a PCN which frightens enough people into paying up rather than have the hassle of court cases etc. which has happened in exactly a handful of cases (and most of those have been thrown out of court).
Private Parking companies and the ridiculous charges they try to scam you out of are yet another example of what's bad about the UK so if you do get a Parking Charge Notice then just laugh at the pretty red notices they send you and never ever respond to them.

@hobbybob: If you book into an Hotel close to Lecester then just leave your car in their car park or drive to the venue, unload and then put the car back in the Hotel car park.
There are enough "on road" car parking spaces (which are free on Sundays) to park near to the venue without worrying about getting a ticket.

I personally won't park on the forecourt owned by the club again as I was lied to by BK who did not handle the parking tickets in any way shape or form and the club owners must be aware of the working practices of their agent but, by virtue of continuing to employ them, condone their actions.
